Entrance to the Statue of Liberty Crown have been closed off, to the public, since the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. The base, pedestal and outdoor observation deck were reopened in 2004, but the crown remained off-limits.Today July 4, 2009, eight years after the attack, the crown has once again been re-opened to the public, just in time to celebrate our Independence Day.

I can’t think of a better way to say that we are finally ready to move on from the tragedy that affected all of America and it’s people. It is time to remember those who were lost, as heroes, and to continue to move forward helping America become the strong nation it once was.

God Bless
